  • "I live in Israel and believe me when I say that that we are being fed a constant line of BS from the Israeli Govt. Yes ,there have been hundreds of rockets fired from Gaza. However, the majority of them them are home made, from Scafoling poles filled with fireworks that are intercepted by the Israeli iron dome defence systems. The county of Israel is kept in a continual state of fear so that we the people are left dependent on the Government. Whereas the people of Gaza have been imprisoned in a piece of land that is no bigger than the City Southampton (from Totton to Headgend). Over 1.5 million people crammed inside the worlds biggest concentration camp for over 8 years. No land border control, fishing that can't exceed 3 miles, no control of airspace. No imports-no exports, so no economy, 3-4 hours of electricity a day, a water system that has been contaminated by salt and sewerage, approximate 150 trucks of goods allowed to enter through one small crossing (subject to approval).
Add to the mix 90% unemployment for those under 25 and 50% for everyone else and no currency to use to stimulate any local businesses. Then you try to understand that there can be no giving in to the Israeli government, if it means that nothing changes. Remember that this is now the 3rd time that there has been a clash and every time Israel uses a Sledge Hammer to open a pistachio. The whole world has to see what Is going on. It is a war crime of the highest proportion. The majority if the people if Israel want to see a 2 state solution, but the right wing pro-settler government does not."

HUNDREDS of people have taken to the streets of Southampton today in protest over the conflict in Gaza.

Chants of "Free Palestine" can be heard across the city centre as people make their voices heard over the ongoing crisis.

Hundreds of people have lost their lives in the conflict between Israel and Palestinians.

Daily Echo:

The Southampton demo marched from the Guildhall before ending at the BBC South headquarters.

Today’s protest saw significantly more protestors taking part in the march than a similar one on Tuesday.

Abdullah Catell, who organised the demo, said: "We are praying all the time for these people.

"We need to unite everyone, from all different political parties and faiths.

"This is not a lone protest - this is the start of a movement."
