POLICE are investigating after an attempted break-in at a Hampshire supermarket overnight.

Winchester firefighters and police were called to Tesco Express, in Springvale Road, Kings Worthy, at 1.05am on Saturday after a security device was activated.

Known as a ‘smoke cloak’ it sets off an alarm and releases smoke to stop the intruders.

Nothing is believed to have been taken.
