A HAMPSHIRE business has been named one of Britain’s healthiest companies in a UKwide survey.

Contact lens manufacturer CooperVision was singled out for praise in the Britain’s Healthiest Company survey of 25,000 employees working for 82 companies.

And the Hamble-le-Ricebased business was highly commended for the survey’s Healthiest Workplace Award, which looked at the company’s health facilities, the wellbeing culture and the nature of the work environment.

It was organised by health insurer PruHealth with Vitality and global consultants Mercer, while research was undertaken by the University of Cambridge and RAND Europe.

Neville Koopowitz, chief executive at PruHealth with Vitality, said: “This is the most comprehensive research programme in the UK looking at employee health.

“Britain’s Healthiest Company celebrates the country’s most outstanding organisations demonstrating best practice and innovative approaches to looking after the wellbeing of their staff.”

Each company taking part received a corporate health report including recommendations on how to improve and how they compare to other businesses.
