CRICKET fans are missing the start of the second Test match to be held in Hampshire because they are marooned in a massive traffic jam.

Huge tailbacks are building up on the southbound M3 between junction 13 and junction 14 and the eastbound M27 up to junction five as tens of thousands of people head to the Ageas Bowl in West End with England facing India.

It is thought delays on trains out of the capital – because of a lightning strike on the network near Woking – has meant more people are driving in from the greater London area.

There are huge queues to the park and ride. Meanwhile, the ground was a long way from being full when the match started.
