A NEW chapter in the history of a Southampton community centre has begun after it was officially opened under new owner- ship.
The Zoe Braithwaite centre in Lordshill was declared open in front of the community it will now serve.
The centre was shut down in the face of local authority spending cuts in March.
Oasis Lords Hill community hub has now taken over the lease on the Fraser Close building from Southampton City Council and will now run a range of services from it.
Childcare and holiday activity programmes are being offered this summer and September will see the opening of a new morning pre-school and the resumption of free after-school play activity sessions for young people aged two to 14 years.
