HAMPSHIRE residents will be the first in the country to find out exactly where police have been using speed cameras to tackle speeding motorists in their neighbourhood on an online map.
From next month, Hampshire police will use an online mapping tool that will show where officers have been targeting drivers using both fixed and mobile cameras.
Members of the public will be able to log on and see the exact location of speed cameras, with information continuously updated, giving results from the previous day and highlighting accident blackspots.
It is hoped that the additional information will allow drivers to plan safe journeys, and help pedestrians and cyclists to choose safer routes to work and school.
