A HAMPSHIRE man arrested on suspicion of neglect has been re-bailed as detectives continue their investigations into the treatment of an elderly woman.
The 84-year-old woman was found seriously ill at her home in Totton amid concerns of neglect and remained in a coma for several days.
She has now woken from her coma but is still recovering in hospital.
As previously reported, her condition sparked a police investigation, which saw her home in Water Lane taped off for more than 24 hours as police conducted enquiries in June.
It is understood that the woman is a widow and has an adult son.
Forensic experts were seen going into the house, close to the junction with Bishops Close, and police talked to neighbours.
A 53-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of neglect has been rebailed until August 28.
