A flagship conservation project helping Hampshire householders save thousands of litres of water a year has scooped a national award.
Water saving devices installed by Groundwork’s Green Doctors have enabled 166,000 homes in the south to save a combined 162 million litres – the equivalent of 65 Olympic size swimming pools.
Now the project has earned Southern Water the Chairman’s Award from the Environment Agency.
Devices saving households up to 112 litres a day include water-saving shower heads and toilet ecobeatas.
