The Fareham Area Branch of Open Sight needs volunteer drivers to help transport visually impaired and blind members to and from social clubs.

The charity –- formerley known as the Hampshire Association for the Care of the Blind – was founded in 1922 to offer support, advice and social opportunities to those with sight loss.

Today it supports more than 3,000 members in Hampshire through its branches and head office in Bishopstoke – 400 of whom form the Fareham branch.

The charity relies on volunteer drivers to transport members between its six clubs in Portchester, Fareham, Locks Heath, Gosport, Stubbington and The Meon Valley where they can enjoy the entertainment, talks, quizzes, outings and much more.

Volunteers receive full training and can claim mileage.
