RESIDENTS can share their ideas on how best to redevelopment a popular Hampshire leisure centre.

Eastleigh Borough Council has organised a series of three exhibitions in Eastleigh for the public to get more information about proposals to demolish the current Fleming Park Leisure Centre in Eastleigh.

Council bosses want to replace it with a new £15m facility close by.

It is hoped the leisure centre, which will include state-of-the-art facilities and equipment with a larger main pool and learner pool, expanded gym facilities and a new restaurant as well as more health and beauty facilities, will open in time for the Rio Olympics in summer 2016.

Fleming Park, in Passfield Avenue, will remain open throughout the development of the new centre as the new building will be built not on exactly the same spot.

Staff will be on hand to listen to residents' views and to present information today at the leisure centre from 3pm to 7pm.

Then they will be at Velmore Community Centre, in Falkland Road on Tuesday from 3pm to 7pm and the Pavilion on the Park, in Kingfisher Road on Thursday , from 3pm to 7pm.
