POLICE are tracking a wallaby that may have escaped into the Hampshire countryside.
Residents in Kingsclere initially reported sightings of a kangaroo this morning but officers have now confirmed it is a wallaby.
The animal was spotted near Union Lane, Kingsclere, at around 8.20am.
Officers confirmed the sighting before contacting the RSPCA, who say wallabies are established in the wild and should be left alone unless injured or in distress.
If anyone has information about an escaped wallaby they should contact Tadley Safer Neighbourhoods team on 101.
