LYMINGTON’S Summer Spectacular lived up to its name.

Thousands flocked to Woodside Park to enjoy a day of family entertainment, including field gun races, a dog show and a classic car show.

Categories in the dog show included cutest puppy, eyes that melt your heart and the dog the judge most wants to take home.

Lymington Town Band, Waterside Lion Dance Club band and Liberty’s Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre also took part in the event, which was put on by Lymington Rotary Club.

The Summer Spectacular was first held in 2000.

Club president Terry Conner explained: “The idea was to give Lymington families an enjoyable day out in their home town as well as continuing the classic car show originally organised by Dennis Knight. This year we added new arena attractions as well keeping old favourites such as the birds of prey.

“The money raised will go to many local and international causes.”
