THE people that look after Hampshire roads have won an award for being “amazing”.
Amey is responsible for maintaining road networks across Hampshire and has been handed the Solent Education Business Partnership’s Amazing People Award for its community investment programme.
Head of customer service David Fawcett was rewarded for leading the community strategy which includes aiming to deliver 200 days of community volunteering in 2014.
Amey’s community engagement plan also includes co-ordinating an apprenticeship programme, offering work placements, visiting schools for safety events, volunteering for community charities including the Rainbow Centre in Fareham, joining in with community activities and holding fundraisers.
