SHE has one million special reasons for her latest charity venture – and she needs your help.

Sarah Parish has been a huge supporter of Southampton General Hospital ever since the death of her baby girl Ella- Jayne five years ago.

And after pledging to help a charity raise £1m for the city’s paediatric intensive care unit the actress is now on a new fundraising mission – to make another million.

As previously reported, Southampton Children’s Hospital is set to open in 2020 and will include a new intensive care unit for poorly youngsters in the south.

And Sarah is determined that doctors and nurses will be kitted out with the very best equipment that could save lives.

One of the first fundraising events to be organised by the Murray Parish Trust – a new charity venture set up by Sarah and husband Jim Murray – is a sponsored walk on Southampton Common on September 7.

And the couple, who live in Alresford, have launched a fundraising challenge for the people of Hampshire – with the person who raises the most money being offered the chance to spend a day with Sarah on the set of BBC drama Atlantis.

Filming is under way for the second series – and there’s even a chance of becoming an extra for the day.

Sarah told the Daily Echo: “The new Southampton General Children’s Hospital will be very hi-tech and have everything under one roof.

“It will be a centre of excellence to rival Great Ormond Street. It’s important we give staff the right facilities so they can do their jobs.”
