A HAMPSHIRE memorial garden is being set up to help bereaved parents.

The Portsmouth Sands charity, which supports families dealing with a stillbirth or neonatal death, wants to build the garden at Portchester Memorial Gardens, and has been given an area called “Little Springs”.

This will be a place where families can have some peaceful time to remember their babies.

The charity plans to put a memorial barbican in the garden where parents can purchase a plaque with wording of their choice for their baby, a beautiful bench and other items.

However it needs funds to make this a reality and is holding a winter ball at the Best Western Royal Beach Hotel, in Portsmouth, on November 15 at 7pm.

It will feature a DJ, a hot buffet and a raffle.

Tickets cost £25 and can be bought on 07770 888974. To donate visit justgiving.com/ Karren-Whitren1.
