THE post office in High Street, Gosport is to close and will be replaced by an office in W H Smith in the same road.
This new branch will have five counters and will open for an extra 20 hours a week.
Opening hours are Monday to Saturday 9am to 5.30pm but selected post office services will also be available Monday to Saturday 7am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm.
Customers can access the full range of Post Office and mails services, such as Special Delivery and online banking cash deposits and withdrawals.
The branch has been operated by a temporary agent since the Post Office’s contract with the former subpostmaster came to an end. This meant it could close at short notice.
The present venue will close at 5.30pm on October 28 and the new one, at 51-52 High Street, will open at 9am the next morning.
