Suspected arson attacks tackled by firefighters

POLICE are investigating a series of fires in the space two hours thought to have been deliberately started.

Crews dealt with four blazes in the early hours of yesterday morning in Gosport.

The first was a car on fire in a car park opposite Elson Road which was called in shortly after 2.40am, and left the vehicle severely damaged.

Firefighters were then called to a fire involving a large skip in Wingate Road, Elson, just after 3.15am, then at 3.20am another car on fire which was left severely damaged on Gunners Way, in Elson.

Finally firefighters dealt with another car on fire at 4.20am, which caused some damage to the interior.

Crews from Gosport were called out on each occasion.
