TIME is running out for people across Hampshire to vote for their favourite pub.

The Daily Echo Best Local 2014 competition is well under way and now residents will have the chance to vote.

For a chance to put your pub in the hall of fame and win the coveted prize we need people to call in before the lines close on Sunday, September 7.

The competition is in its second year and gives people a chance to appreciate their local haunt and bag the chance to host a hog roast party in the pub garden.

Now eight pubs have been nominated for the award. Two finalists will then go forward before our expert panel of judges. The winning pub will then be announced and scoop not only the title of Best Local 2014 but also a free hog roast party to celebrate with their regulars thanks to Clementine Catering as well as £500 worth of advertising with the Daily Echo.

By phone: Call 0901 151 AND then add the four digits (numbers) that appear next to the name of your chosen pub, listed here. For example, if there was a pub with the number 8888 you would dial 0901 151 8888.

By text: Text the keyword PUB, leave a space, followed by the four digits which appear next to the pub of your choice and send to 80360.

Calls cost 51p from a BT landline, calls from mobiles and other networks may vary. Text messages cost 50p plus your mobile operator’s standard text charge. Telephone and text lines will close at midnight on Sunday, September 7. Service provided by Newsquest Media Group. You can vote as many times as you wish by phone or text. The two pubs with the highest number of votes will go through to the final judging pro-cess when a panel will decide the winner. In the event of a tie the editor’s decision is final. Normal Echo rules apply. Visit dailyecho.co.uk and click on “promotions and competitions”.
