I know this is a serious matter and my sympathies go out to the family of this poor woman.

However, reading the live updates would suggest that the reporter at the scene is struggling to find anything constructive to say!

Completely agree. The story should have been reported then updated when something with substance could be added.

RIP - very sad.

I know it's a bit pedantic, but I was struggling to work out where it was, Lyndhurst road, suggested it was near New Park, Brockenhurst. but now the update states the B3056, near junction of North Road, which I know very well, just north of Beaulieu, is actually known as Hatchet Lane.

Are the words"hypothesis is that she was known to her" in the report,a typo,or is it thought that the assailant was a woman?

Can only assume these 'people' were substance-abused at the time of the attack as no-one in their right mind would contemplate such a motiveless action. Maybe it's time for 'revenge' to become a valid part of the criminal justice system - a very satisfying prospect for victims of such senseless crimes. The perpetrators must be sent a very stern and clear message. Bringing back the birch would be a good start - and I am usually very non-violent.

well, seeing as i actually know her... yes, she was murdered. Multiple stab wounds to the chest. If that isnt conclusive enough then stop posting your stupid comments and show some respect to this woman.
I've been friends with her and her family for YEARS so dont you dare say a single sarcastic word against them.

Agree....to be honest with you anyone who commits a senseless crime like this should be caught and then shot dead..we do not have any need whatsover for them on this world and we certainly shouldnt pay taxes to keep them in british holiday prison parks....kill them and be done with it...unforunately england is a soft weak state with too many do goiders who wd say who are you to lay judgement...well yiu try telling that to the poor family of this woman...I actually feel so bad for that family.

I personally believe its horrible that the reporter chose to print the message left with the flowers at the field, as well as the names of those who wrote it. Those notes are personal messages to the deceased as a way of paying their respect, not something that can be published in the media. I am disgusted at this invasion of privacy and lack of sympathy and understanding shown towards the friends of Pennie who were trying to pay their respects. My heart goes out to her friends and family during this hard time.

Not sure why this comment has so many thumbs down, doesn't seem right to be honest.

Horrible thing to happen to anyone much less someone so well thought of in the local community. Condolences to all who knew her especially her Children.
