ROYAL Navy ship, HMS Severn, deployed in anything from firefighting to disaster relief operations will arrive at the show, opposite Solent Park, at noon today.
Visitors will get the chance to go onboard the ship which is part of the Royal Navy Fishery Protection Squadron between 1pm and 4pm.
Alex Thomson, who holds the record for the youngest skipper ever to win a round the world race, will be at stand J064 between 2.30pm and 5.30pm.
Meanwhile, skipper Vicky Ellis and former crew members Lindsey Noble and Sophie Hetherton will be speaking about their experiences of the Clipper Round the World yacht race and sharing video footage of the trip between 4pm and 5pm today at the PSP lounge.
Visitors will also get to have a look around a Clipper racing yacht between 9.30am and 6.30pm today and tomorrow at berth M150.
And, marine biologist Maya Plass, known for appearing on BBC’s Autumnwatch, Coast and ITV’s Hungry Sailors, and for writing the RSPB’s Handbook of the Seashore, will be holding two workshops about the seashore. The talks, at 11am and 3pm today, will be at stand E039A.
