Armed police swoop after reports of man with a firearm
ARMED police descended onto a residential street following reports of a man brandishing a firearm.
Police responded to a public order incident in William Macleod Way, Southampton at around 3.50am today after a member of the public reported a man causing a disturbance in the street.
Hampshire Constabulary sent an armed police team to the scene and a 24-year-old man from Southampton was arrested in connection with the incident.
He is currently being questioned by police.
A search of the area has been conducted and no firearm has been located.
Anyone with information about the incident should contact Southampton CID on 101.
