FORMER Saints legends were back in action to support a brave little girl battling a rare and debilitating illness.
Matt Le Tissier, Jason Dodd and Gordon Watson were among stars coming out of retirement for a charity game in Eastleigh.
The players – joined by ex-Spurs and England winger Darren Anderton – starred in the charity match at Silverlake Stadium yesterday in aid of the Evelyn Rose Appeal.
Little Evelyn Nolan, granddaughter of former Eastleigh chairman and manager Roger Sherwood, has an incredibly rare genetic disorder which affects one in 168 million children and has spent much of her life in hospital.
The two-year-old has gone from chatting and standing to being unable to lift her head and having virtually no movement on her right side and suffers from intractable epilepsy.
Dad Elliot has quit his job as a teacher to become her full-time carer, alongside his wife Debbie.
The Footballing All Stars took on the Ex-Eastleigh Stars in a match forming the highlight of a charity fun day, which also included bouncy castles, face-painting, candy floss and a raffle.
The money raised will go towards items to improve her quality of life including a mobility car with electric seat, physio and adaptations to their Southampton home, including lifts and accessibility to the garden.
