ORGANISERS of a pub fun day in Southampton served up a triple measure of donations to Macmillan Cancer Support after they raised three times more than expected.
Gill Smeeth decided to organise the event at her local, the Grove Tavern, in Swift Road, Woolston, after witnessing how the charity helped her partner Les in his battle against the disease.
The effort was worth £3,356.40, which was handed to Macmillan fundraising manager Alice Dewsnap-Smith. Gill said: “It is great to be able to give something back.”
