Open day for council’s children’s services
SOUTHAMPTON City Council is today hosting an open day about change in the authority’s Children Services.
It will be a chance to hear about vacancies within the council’s Children Services department and speak to department chiefs.
The department is undergoing a major transformation after Ofsted ranked it “inadequate” as of April 2013. It is hoped to change that to a ‘good’ next year and major changes will be carried out over the next two to three years as part of the transformation project which will be discussed today.
Two sessions will be run at the Civic Centre today one from 9.30am to noon and the second from 12.30-3.30pm.
There will also be a series of lectures, exhibits and workshops running from 10am to 1pm.
