A COASTAL management scheme for Hampshire is being developed to reduce the risk of flooding.
Land from the River Hamble to Portchester is the focus of the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership.
Nearly 400 people attended public consultation events in September at Ferneham Hall in Fareham, Gosport Discovery Centre, Hill Head Sailing Club and Warsash Sailing Club.
Cllr Keith Evans, executive member for strategic planning and development at Fareham council, said: “There has been a great deal of interest in what the strategy is proposing and we are very pleased with the level of interest we have seen from the public so far.
“Getting people involved at the right time not only helps shape future plans but also raises the profile of flooding in communities who might not already be aware of the risks.”
The proposals are still available for viewing and comment until December 1 at escp.org.uk/strategy.
