Firefighters rescue group stuck in lift
FIREFIGHTERS rescued a group of people from a lift in Southampton in the early hours of today.
A crew from St Mary’s fire station were called to the Lucia Foster Welch student complex in Royal Crescent Road at about 5.30am after reports that three people were stuck in a lift.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The crew would have had to override the system and move the lift.”
The spokesman said there was no suggestion any of the three people were injured.
Lucia Foster Welch is part of the Southampton Solent University's student accommodation.
