THREE world-famous acts have been announced for next year's Isle of Wight Festival.

American superstar Pharrell Williams has been booked for the Isle of Wight Festival in 2015 while two acts have been confirmed as Friday headliners.

Both British dance-rock pioneers The Prodigy and multi-platinum US rock duo The Black Keys will be taking to the stage on the festival's first night with the former closing the stage.

The news comes after it was announced earlier in the week that vintage rockers Fleetwood Mac will headline on the Sunday night.

Pharrell, who will perform on the Saturday, has been responsible for some of the past year's most catchy songs, including his worldwide smash single “Happy”, which reached number one in 24 countries and sold 10 million copies.

He said: “I'm really excited to be coming to the UK to play at The Isle of Wight Festival next summer!  Such a cool festival, with an amazing musical history and I'm just really honoured to be part of it. “

With tickets going on sale tomorrow morning it has not yet known which day the number one selling US artist Pharrell will be appearing at the festival but it has been confirmed he will not be headlining.

The Prodigy

Comprising of Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim, The Prodigy have sold over 25 million albums worldwide and have a string of hit singles to their name including “Firestarter”, “Voodoo People”, and “Warrior's Dance”.

The Black Keys - Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney - released their eighth studio album “Turn Blue” earlier this year, achieving their highest charting album position to date, hitting No. 2 in the UK charts and No. 1 in the US.

Festival organiser John Giddings added: “With a brand new album coming out next year it's great to welcome The Prodigy back to The Isle of Wight Festival - they never fail to deliver and are one of the best live acts around.
