HAMPSHIRE communities are making sure it is a Christmas to remember with the night sky lit up with festive cheer.
Last night Wickham Square was illuminated with twinkling lights as the Wickham Morris Dancers entertained the crowds who gathered for the annual switch on.
Santa also made a special appearance in his grotto, meeting excited youngsters who were eager to inform him of their wish list.

Meanwhile, in Chandler’s Ford, pupils from Fryern Infant and Junior Schools showed off their home-made lights during a parade from the school down to the nearby Fryern Arcade shopping precinct.
The children’s efforts were part of the Christmas event at the precinct, which also featured face painting and a lucky dip and festive fun with a visit from Father Christmas, who gave rides on his horse cart, alongside mince pies and a non-alcoholic version of mulled wine.
