A COUNCILLOR embroiled in a love triangle last night once again failed to turn up to a Cabinet meeting.

Cllr Louise Bloom has now missed six of Eastleigh Borough Council’s Cabinet meetings in a row.

This comes after the Daily Echo reported how her former partner, council leader Cllr Keith House, has struck up a relationship with Cllr Tonia Craig (below) after they separated.

Daily Echo:

Cllr Craig was promoted to join the Cabinet as member for health and safety – alongside Cllr House and his former partner of 14 years Cllr Bloom.

Last night, she sent her apologies for her absence, the meeting heard.

Cllrs Craig and House were both present.

Daily Echo:

Keith House has remained silent about the issue and refused to speak when approached about it at a meeting of the Hedge End, West End and Botley Local Area Committee on Monday.

When asked if he would like to speak about the matter, he told the Daily Echo: “Don’t waste my time”.

Deputy leader Cllr Anne Winstanley has previously spoken out on behalf of the Eastleigh Liberal Democrat group.

She has said that Cllr Bloom had been suffering from “serious health problems” which had limited her ability to attend meetings, but that she had been able to carry out most of her other Cabinet responsibilities.
