MOVING statements from members of Choudhry Zishan’s family were prepared for the judge and the court.

They spoke of a family still in shock and disbelief at the sudden death of a central member.

Brother-in-law Zafar Iqbal said: “The murder of our loved one Zishan has left a devastating lifechanging effect on all our lives and the community of Eastleigh and Southampton which he cares for. Our family will be suffering for the rest of our lives.

“We are all devastated with this sad, horrific and brutal murder of our innocent Choudhry Zishan.

We are not looking for retaliation but justice for Zishan.”

Sister Tayyaba Iqbal said: “My eyes can see the news media, courts and even his grave but my heart still does not believe that he has gone forever and is not coming back to us or the community he loved very much.”

Another sister Sarah Sadat said: “I am missing him more and more every day and praying to almighty God that he did not suffer but as the witnesses and other statements show that he died in such pain which is not humane.”

Tania Fiaz, another sister, said: “After eight months I still cannot come to terms with the loss of my angel face brother which has been taken away from us for no reason at all.”

Choudhry Zishan

Ali Fayyaz, brother, said: “Zishan was my older brother, father and mentor. I am heartbroken and lost. These killers are not human beings, they must be monsters to do something like that.”

Madhea Fiaz, sister, said: “The people who took his life are worse than animals, evil people who have no regard for life or humanity of mankind.”

Brothers Sam McKinley and Jon McKinley must serve a minimum of 28 years after receiving life terms for the murder of Choudhry Zishan.
