Firm helps ship gifts for the under-privileged
SOUTHAMPTON-based Meachers Global Logistics is helping to ship over 25,000 shoeboxes filled with Christmas gifts to under privileged children overseas as part of a community initiative.
Meachers has collaborated with the Wessex Rotary Club to supply disadvantaged children with the shoeboxes packed full of gift items donated by local school pupils.
Across two weekends, staff and volunteers have separated the shoeboxes into genders and seven different age groups. They were then loaded on to trailers and containers to be shipped to children in Albania, Macedonia and the Philippines in time for Christmas.
