A FORMER BBC South weather girl is today at the centre of a major political storm after she has been linked to former Pakistani cricket captain turned-politician Imran Khan.

Former South Today presenter Reham Khan has been romantically linked to the 62-year-old politician after she moved to Pakistan to become a TV news reader.

Now Imran's sister has denied that the couple have secretly got married saying that is a rumour being spread by his political opponents, who it is claimed object to her being a divorced mother who was also filmed performing the tango on TV.

Aleema Khan has said her brother has denied marrying the 42-year-old mother of three, who was a regular on BBC South Today.

Mr Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf party currently holds the third largest bloc of seats in the country's parliament.

He has also tweeted his followers, saying rumours of his marriage are 'greatly exaggerated'.

Reham, who has not commented on the reports, is currently working as an anchor woman for Pakistan television chanel AAJ TV.

She was born in Libya to Pakistani parents and has three children from her previous marriage to a doctor.

Reham joined the BBC in 2008 and became a popular figure on South Today presenting the weather.

She also dedicated her time to good causes like Women and Ethnic representation in the police force.

Before that, she worked for Legal TV and was a breakfast presenter for a local radio station.

She worked for the BBC for four-and-a-half-years before she decided to resign in 2012, moving to Pakistan to cover the historical 2013 Pakistani General Elections.

She joined NewsOne in January 2013 and soon after she was presenting the 8pm programme on AAJ TV.

In July 2014 she moved on, making guest appearances and briefly taking up a position with PTV.

She is currently working at Dawn News hosting In Focus.
