SIR Robin Knox-Johnston has done his bit for charity by auctioning an unlikely item – his weather-beaten shorts.
The 75-year-old wore the bright Hawaiian shorts as he celebrated his third place finish in the Route du Rhum, a singlehanded race across the Atlantic.
Sir Robin, the oldest competitor in the fleet, had them framed and put them up for auction in aid of the RNLI.
And one lucky bidder can now treasure them after forking out £165.
