A SOUTHAMPTON woman died after she tripped and hit her head outside her home.
An inquest heard how 75- year-old Dilys Thomas died on November 11 at Southampton General Hospital as a result of a bleed on her brain.
The hearing was told Mrs Thomas, who lived in Andover Road, Freemantle, contracted bronchopneumonia while in hospital.
Recording a verdict of accidental death, the senior coroner for central and south Hampshire, Grahame Short, said there was nothing that could have been done.
He said: “This incident of the death of Mrs Thomas is all too familiar to me when older people have falls and have an injury to the head which causes internal bleeding.”
