A SOUTHAMPTON woman died after drinking a poisonous liquid and was found clutching a picture of her mother.
Claire Havinga had been to a family reunion in Portswood days before she was found dead at home in Paynes Road, Millbrook, on August 20 by a housemate.
Her brother, Lee Havinga, of Mayfield Road, Swaythling, told the inquest the 27-year-old had been “happy” and “on top of the world” at the party.
He said he had no reason to believe she wanted to take her own life, nor did her housemate Gary Butler.
Miss Havinga lost her parents as a youngster and had a history of depression.
Senior coroner for central Hampshire, Grahame Short, ruled that Miss Havinga took her own life.
