A consultation on proposals aimed at improving secondary and post-16 educational achievement on the Isle of Wight will be launched today.

The proposals aim to ensure there are the right number of secondary school and post-16 A-level places in the right locations to meet the needs of current and future pupils.

The purpose of the consultation is to get the views of parents, young people, the wider community and education providers on the best way to organise education provision.

A detailed consultation document with background information and the full list of proposals can be viewed on the council’s website from 5pm today and will run until 4.30pm on Thursday, April 30 during which time a series of public meetings will also be staged.
