GOVERNMENT investment to improve coastal walkways in Hampshire is to create eight new jobs.
The £360,000 given to the Conservation Volunteers is designed to help improve the Solent Way coastal path by developing nearby routes and introducing better signage.
The 60-mile footpath links Milford-on-Sea with Emsworth Harbour, following the coast of the Solent.
Funds have been allocated by the Coastal Communities Fund and is part of £90m of funding for projects around the English coast.
The investment should create 11,000 jobs and attract more than £128m in other investment, the Government said.
Other sites to get help include Blackpool’s iconic illuminations, Scarborough’s historic market and Saltdean Lido, near Brighton.
Coastal Communities Minister Penny Mordaunt said: “This money will help create jobs, boost skills and open up new business opportunities, benefiting hardworking people in coastal communities across the country.”
