A NEW aqua assault course similar to that featuring in Richard Hammond's smash hit TV show Total Wipeout will be making waves in the heart of Hampshire.

New Forest Water Park has announced today that it will be installing a course similar to the one on the wet and wild global TV phenomena ready for the summer season.

Like the show, the new attraction will balance athletic ability with plenty of trips, slips, thrills and spills.

And although there will be no ‘big red balls’ and £10,000 cash prize for those completing the challenge in the best time, the German designed and engineered ‘Wibit’ does consist of interlocking inflatable sections just like the course in Argentina.

Daily Echo: The BBC game show was hosted by Richard Hammond and Amanda Byram.

It will provide endless on-water activities from the likes of slides, monkey bars, trampolines and even a climbing ice tower that are sure to generate plenty of comedy moments to treasure.

Interlocking modules, meanwhile, will provide the park with a floating playground of fun, but also a fitness opportunity for those willing to get stuck in.

The new attraction is aimed at those aged from six to 66. With installation taking place on the April 13, the equipment will undergo rigorous safety procedures before opening to the general public on Saturday, May 2.

Park managing director Mark Jury said: “We couldn’t be more delighted about this new addition to the park.

“The response has been phenomenal as just after posting the news on Facebook, we reached 10,000 likes.”

Wibit has been sold to over 60 countries and has been enjoyed by over 7,500,000 users worldwide, from Canada to Mexico and from Norway to Dubai and Australia.

Wibit’s chief executive Romann Rademacher added: “Modularity allows us to create these floating playgrounds for all kinds of locations, from pools up to lakes and open water fronts.

“Any combination can be made to fit specific location parameters and makes the products universally suitable.”

This follows the launch of the state-of-the art Rixen cable wakeboard system in the 50 acre park near Fordingbridge which has proved to be a hit with visitors.
