POLICE hunting thugs who attacked a man with a bottle and assaulted a woman have released CCTV images of two suspects clutching bottles of booze.

The two men were captured on camera and officers believe they could be responsible for the two assaults and kicking in the door of a parked car, all of which happened within just half an hour.

The first incident took place in Templars Mede, when a 22-year-old man was assaulted when he was hit in the face with a bottle, leaving him with a split lip and causing his tooth to fall out.

Shortly after, a 45-year-old woman was assaulted in Conway Close, leaving her with bumps and grazes to her knees and arm.

Then a Honda Civic car was targeted on Belmont Road, leaving it with a large dent in the rear door.

Both men in the images are white and holding whiskey bottles.

One was wearing a Christmas style bobble hat and a thick green coat.

The second was wearing a thick blue coat with a fur lines hood and blue jeans.

Police Staff Investigator Laura Ruffell said: “I am appealing for anyone who recognises either of these men, to come forward and speak to us. Your information will be treated in confidence and you could help us find the men responsible for these incidents.”

Anyone with information about the men in the images, or the incidents, which happened between 9.30am and 10am on Boxing Day, should contact PSI Ruffell, at Southampton police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
