PASSENGERS flying out of Southampton got a glimpse of a plane with a difference today.
This replica of a Flybe's Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft was brought to life at Southampton Airport by professionals from Lego building company Bright Bricks.
The 1.8m long model which has a wing span of 1.4m was built in the airport's passenger terminal.
It is made out of 20,000 bricks and took lego expert Ed Diment and two of his colleagues 60 hours to build.
Ed, 43, said: “It has been great, building it has run very smoothly it has had alot of interest on social media.”
It will soon feature in the Bricks in Motion exhibition at Milestones Living History Museum in Basingstoke.
The Hampshire Cultural Trust who are organising the exhibition were delighted to see the Embraer model take shape.
Chief Executive of The Hampshire Cultural Trust, Janet Owen, said: “We are very proud to work collaboratively with such great organisations for this project.
“We urge Hampshire residents to visit and get a sneak-peak of what's in store for the Bricks in Motion exhibition that kicks off next month.”
