A TALENTED screenwriter is calling on film fans to help her campaign to raise cash to shoot a new screenplay in the New Forest.

Sameera Steward, from Holbury, and her production company Constellations Entertainment is using an Internet crowdfunding campaign to raise £9,000 to produce her new project.

The screenplay explores an unconventional Romany gypsy family in 1926, which faces extreme emotional and social change once a new law is passed forcing all gypsies to live together in a small compound.

Sameera, who made 2014’s Brit List of best soon-to-be-produced screenplays, has been signed to Independent Talent Group, which represents writers such as Abby Morgan (The Iron Lady), Julian Fellowes (Downton Abbey), and David Seidler (The King’s Speech).

She has developed a number of feature films and TV series over the past three years and has worked with companies such as ITV Studios and Urban Myth Films.

The film is currently in its last week of an Indie GoGo crowdfunding campaign and the company is giving away gifts and opportunities in exchange for a donation, including an internship at Constellations, and the chance to be an extra on the set of the film.
