IT is one of the most talked about moments in music this year so far - and it sent Hampshire bonkers.

Queen of pop Madonna caused a Twitter storm when she dramatically fell down a flight of stairs at the Brit Awards 2015.

Today it can be revealed just how much the social media site went into overdrive following last night's high profile tumble at the glamorous awards screened live to millions of viewers.

Pop fans from across the county were among those commenting on the drama which unfolded in the closing stages of the ceremony at the O2 Arena.

An online map of Britain posted on analytics website cartodb.com shows an explosion of Twitter comments following fall and after the show's grand finale.

The 56-year-old singer fell backwards down the short flight of stairs when one of her dancers' matador horns caught in her long flowing cape and pulled her off balance.

It was midway through her new single “Live for Love”.

But she quickly picked herself up and carried on with her performance.

Afterwards Madge confirmed she was unhurt and wrote on her Instagram: ''Armani hooked me up! My beautiful cape was tied too tight! But nothing can stop me and love really lifted me up! Thanks for your good wishes! I'm fine!''
