Be Your Best Foundation director Ian Readhead said: “What’s great about these events is that we get young contestants from a whole range of schools.

"They have a splendid day, they enjoy the dance, they enjoy the music, they enjoy meeting other people from other schools and it’s all about the taking part.

"These are really special days, I meet people who’ve done these events years afterwards and they still remember it for all the joy they had and the great amount of fun.

"It’s a really good way to try and help young people in the community it’s a great way to try and stick to those rules of not smoking, not drinking and not playing truant.

"We’re really proud to be associated with it. I’ve been director for a number of years now and before that was the chief constable in Hampshire.

"The Hampshire Constabulary and the Hampshire PCC are fully supportive of all this work. So, a great day!"
