A SIXTH man has been charged by police following a string of burglaries across Hampshire and the south.

Jamie Bellows is the sixth person from Southampton to have been arrested and charged following 19 burglaries at homes and businesses in Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire and Sussex.

Police executed search warrants at six addresses in the city on the morning of February 2 after the burglaries took place between October 1 and December 15.

During the searches at homes in North East Road, Lime Street, Burgess Road, Carnation Road, Avalon House and Underwood Road, officers seized property including clothing, phones, computer equipment and jewellery.

Max Alexander, 24, from Bluebell Road, Fardeen Hamidy, 21, from Bursledon Road, James Poole, 21 from Rosoman Road, David Brown, 27, from Lime Street and Matthew Lang, 26 from Carnation Road, were all arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit burglary.

And police arrested 26-year-old Mr Bellows, from Chafen Road, yesterday and have now charged him with conspiracy to commit burglary and handling stolen goods.

He appeared at Southampton Magistrates Court yesterday.

Three women from Southampton aged 19, 21 and 28 and two men from Southampton aged 19 and 38 were also arrested as part of this investigation. They have been bailed pending further enquiries until April 9.
