CIGARETTES worth thousands of pounds have been stolen during a break-in at a Hampshire garage.

Thieves targeted Loaders Garage in St John's Road, New Milton, in the early hours of yesterday and made off with cigarettes worth up to £5,000.

PC Lynsey Andrews said: “We're following up several lines of enquiry and would like to hear from anyone who was in the area or passing through.

“If you've been offered cheap cigarettes for sale, they could be stolen - so please let us know.

“The break-in is a reminder to all business owners that it's worth remaining vigilant and considering reviewing your security.”

Call police on 101.
