SEVEN men have been arrested over alleged sexual offences on the Isle of Wight.
Hampshire police confirmed this afternoon that a further seven men were arrested on Tuesday over an alleged conspiracy to commit serious sexual offences on the Island.
It follows the arrest of six separate men - including three serving police officers - on December 11 last year in relation to the allegation.
The recent arrests are linked to information reported by a female who is a member of the public, relating to incidents alleged to have taken place during 2014.
None of the seven men arrested on the Isle of Wight on Tuesday are serving police officers or police staff.
All seven were questioned in police custody and later bailed until various dates in May 2015.
The six other men also remain on police bail until various dates in May 2015 pending further enquiries.
The arrested police officers remain suspended from duty while the criminal investigation continues.
Further updates will be provided when appropriate.
