A man will appear in court today to stand trial for the murder of Hampshire mother of five.

The trial is expected to get underway today into the murder of 47-year-old Pennie Davis.

The shop worker from Blackfield, suffered multiple stab wounds in a field at Leygreen Farm, near Beaulieu, on September 2.

She was discovered by her husband Peter Davis, whom she had married the previous May.

At Winchester Crown Court today, Justin Robertson, 36, of no fixed address, will appear charged with her murder and an allegation of conspiracy to murder Mrs Davis.

At a previous hearing he denied the charge Also appearing in the dock is Samantha Maclean, 28, unemployed, of Beech Crescent, Hythe, who has denied conspiracy to murder.

A third defendant, Ben Carr, 22, a scaffolder, of Edward Road, Shirley, Southampton, will also appear accused of conspiracy to murder Mrs Davis, who formerly worked at the Daily Echo.

The trial is expected to last up to four weeks.
