RAPPING star Snoop Dogg will not be coming to Southampton this week.

The famous musician was set to spend a night at the Switch club on Wednesday but has been forced to cancel.

The star is now expected to come to the city in May for a performance instead.

Ryan Keary, owner of Switch said: “We are gutted. These things happen with big artists, but it's still very, very frustrating for all involved.”

The club announced the news of Facebook and said: “It is with huge frustration that this event has to be rescheduled. Due to variables outside of our control Snoop Dogg will no longer be appearing in the UK this week.

“We are extremely disappointed and frustrated at the situation we've been put in and would like to apologise to everyone that has purchased tickets for this event or made plans to attend. This is the first and last time we want to be in a situation such as this.”

The rapper had to reschedule after making plans to stay in Paris this weekend to support a musician on their worldwide tour.

Ryan hopes the new date for his appearance at The Switch will be between May 13 and May 25 when he will be in Europe for the Cannes Film Festival.

Ryan added: “We are officially the quickest selling snoop club show ever - selling out in 26 minutes. This will 100% happen.

“We've been reassured of that and have paid the fee for the act, which hasn't been refunded. We may well now be able to do two shows back to back to help cope with demand.

Ticket holders can claim full refunds straight away, by sending an email to Support@Fatsoma.com with the name and reference number of the booking.

Alternatively, the tickets will still be valid for the rescheduled show.

Any refunded tickets will be resold for £15 as soon as date is announced.
