ADVENTURERS Hugo and Ross Turner will be speaking about their challenges at the Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium.

The brothers, known as the Turner Twins, became record holders in 2012 as part of the youngest four-man crew and the first twins to have rowed any of the world’s oceans.

Last year they also attempted to trek across the 555km polar ice cap of Greenland to compare old and new clothing with King’s College London’s department of twin research.

And this year they are planning another epic challenge, trekking 5,642m (18,510ft) to the top of Mt Elbrus in Russia.

But before the 25-year-olds from Devon set off they will join Hampshire Paralympic sailor Geoff Holt MBE DL at the event in Winchester to raise money for the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust, a cause close to their hearts after Hugo had to have his neck reconstructed after a freak driving accident when he was 17.

Guests will also get a chance to view the centre’s exhibits at the event which starts at 7pm on March 24.

Doors open at 6.30pm.

Tickets cost £20 and are available by calling Sally Moger on 023 8026 0918 or emailing sally.moger@ssit.org.uk.
