YOU can leave your hat on at this year's Larmer Tree Festival as living legend Sir Tom Jones will be kicking off the festivities once again.

Following an electrifying opening performance at Larmer Tree last year the legendary 'Sex Bomb' singer is back!

Larmer Tree Festival today reveals their first line-up announcements for its 25th anniversary year.

A global superstar and judge on The Voice, Sir Tom will kick of the quirky five-day event on Wednesday July 15 headlining the Main Stage.

With 2014 tickets selling out in record time, 2015 looks likely to follow suit as Tom returns with great songs from his recent albums and all the classics.

The festival, founded by Festival Director James Shepard in 1990, takes place July 15-19 in the stunning grounds of Larmer Tree Gardens on the Wiltshire/ Dorset border.

Organisers are also pleased to welcome back folk-punk band Levellers as one of the headline acts on the Thursday evening. They are no strangers to the festival, having performed in both 2008 and 2012.

Taking to the main stage on Friday are acoustic guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela. Originally part of a Mexican thrash metal band, the pair mix the tempestuous genres of jazz, rock, nuevo flamenco and heavy metal. Femi Kuti & The Positive Force will be showcasing their unique Afrobeat style with a blend of funk, jazz and African folk. Accompanied by his band The Positive Force, Kuti will wow the crowd with songs from his Grammy nominated albums on Saturday night.

Closing the festival on Sunday night Jimmy Cliff completes the festival's headline line-up. With a career spanning nearly 50 years, and playing tracks from his celebrated 2012 album, Rebirth, Cliff promises to deliver an unforgettable set of popular reggae to leave the audience on fine form for the last night of the five-day party.

James Shepard, Festival Director said: “This being the 25th time I've programmed the festival, the pressure was really on to produce 'the best line-up yet'... and when I scan the list of international stars who'll be appearing this year I really feel like all my birthdays have come at once! “ Tom Jones said: “The energy of the crowd and unique atmosphere of Larmer Tree Festival in 2014 was wonderful. It's a great pleasure to be returning for the festival's 25th anniversary and to perform on the opening night once again.”

In celebration of this 25th anniversary landmark, 2015 sees the return of some exceptional Larmer Tree favourites from throughout the years. Headlining on Thursday is Bellowhead, an 11-piece contemporary folk band famed for their high-energy live performances.

Raghu Dixit, one of India's biggest musical exports, is bringing his soulful, earthy and infectious music back to Larmer Tree after an unforgettable performance in 2012. Also fresh from a dance-inducing set in 2014, and the most requested 'please get them back' band, CoCo and the Butterfields are returning with a vibrant set, powerful vocals and catchy songs.

As always, world music features strongly. Music-lovers will be entranced by Afro-Electro sounds from Ibibio Sound Machine, an exotic blend of multi-cultural music from the Parisian Orchestre National de Barbes and the hybrid mix of calypso music with modern influences from Canadian/Caribbean Kobo Town.

Larmer Tree Festival prides itself on supporting local and emerging talent, and runs their annual Breakthrough Music Awards competition to provide a platform for up and coming artists, with the prize being the chance to play at the festival. Drew Allen, one of last year's LTBMA finalists will play at the festival this summer following an exciting 12 months which saw him supporting James Blunt. Bournemouth-based musician Wesley Bennett was booked after having been spotted playing in a local café and festival goers can look forward to hearing his acoustic folk set in July.
